Dragon Boat Team

The Ma-Yi Dragons were formed in 2003 to race at the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in Flushing, NY, as part of the theater’s community outreach program. 

Comprised of Ma-Yi Theater Company artists and friends, the team continues to compete in Flushing, as well as other festivals such as the Washington DC Dragon Boat Festival, Riverfront Dragon Boat Races (Hartford, CT), and the Fingerlakes International Dragon Boat Festival (Ithaca, NY).

Based on traditions dating back 2,500 years and rich with a history of excellence, dragon boat racing is one of the fastest growing competitive team sports in the world. The Ma-Yi Dragons are guaranteed to foster your communal spirit while strengthening your mind, body, and spirit.
